Our Story:

Mt. Comfort Church, one church in two locations, stands upon a legacy of dedicated servants, tracing back over 140 years, who created a foundation of community service through missions, faith development, worship, and more.   Over the past five years, three congregations (Mt. Comfort UMC, The Movie Theater Church, and Philadelphia UMC) have come together as one to better serve the ever-changing needs in our community.  Our heart beats with a passion for helping people experience the transforming power of Jesus Christ in their lives.  We believe this happens through our GATHERING together, GROWING in our faith, and GIVING of ourselves.  God is powerfully moving in our midst, and we’d love for you to join the journey.

What We Believe:

God created the universe; He sustains life and life eternal. Our Lord Jesus Christ is His resurrected Son, offering salvation through His love, forgiveness, and sacrifice to those who believe. The Holy Spirit is God’s continual presence on earth, teaching and guiding us daily.

The Bible is the flawless Word of God, a foundation for our relationship with Him, and impetus for life transformation.

All people are of sacred worth, wonderfully and beautifully created in God’s image with unique gifts and a specific purpose.

The church is the vehicle in which Christ-Followers serve the community, encourage one another, and extend unconditional love.

We should agree on the essentials of faith, recognize freedom in the non-essentials, and extend grace in all things.
