Our Story:

For over 140 years Mt. Comfort UMC has faithfully served this community. In 2008, MTC began with a mission to inspire and encourage the broken people of the world.  These churches came together and merged in an effort to better meet the ever changing needs of our community.  This merge created Mt. Comfort Church. In 2020, our journey continued. Philadelphia UMC and Mt. Comfort Church merged, creating one church, in two locations.  Mt. Comfort Church today exists on a legacy of dedicated servants who created a foundation of missions, community, families, and more. It’s heart beats with a passion for helping people experience the power of Jesus Christ in their life. We are excited about what God has in store for our church and invite you to be a part of all God is doing through our church.

What We Believe:

God created the universe; He sustains life and life eternal. Our Lord Jesus Christ is His resurrected Son, offering salvation through His love, ministry, and sacrifice to those who believe. The Holy Spirit is God’s continual presence on earth, teaching and guiding us daily.
The Bible is the flawless Word of God, a foundation for our relationship with Him, and impetus for life transformation.
All people are of sacred worth, wonderfully and beautifully created in God’s image with unique gifts and a specific purpose.
The church is the vehicle in which Christ-Followers serve the community, encourage one another, and extend unconditional love.
We should be in agreement on the essentials of faith, recognize freedom in the non-essentials, and extend grace in all things.
