C.O.M.E. (Community Outreach Ministry Eastside)

C.O.M.E. is a local ministry organization of area churches to help Warren Township and western Hancock County (Buck Creek Township and Sugar Creek Township) residents with emergency needs such as food, rent, utilities, and eye glasses.

Indiana United Methodist Children’s Home – Lebanon

This outreach mission ministry of the United Methodist Church brings hope to youth with emotional, behavioral and educational difficulties. Problems caused by physical, emotional and sexual abuse, neglect and abandonment bring youth to the home. These youth are given hope and are shown ways to find the happiness that is lacking in their young lives. Susan Bennett from the Home was Mount Comfort United Methodist Church’s featured speaker in 2008.

Hancock County Hope House

Hope House is a local ministry in Greenfield that provides temporary housing for the homeless in the community, stocks a local food pantry, and manages the Wear House Thrift Store. MCUMC supports Hope House with a monthly food drive, collection of clothing and items for donation to the Thrift Store, and participation in the Wear House fundraiser Style Show. The Care Center and Wheeler Mission The Care Center and Wheeler Mission is an Indianapolis ministry that provides shelter, food, and clothing for people in the inner-city community.

Brightwood Community Center

The Brightwood Community Center provides programs for senior citizens, summer-long daily programs for the neighborhood youth, a food pantry, and clothing closet for persons in the community. Brightwood Community Center provides a safe haven for youth with after-school tutoring and programs. and MCUMC assists by providing meals several times during the school year.

Pregnancy Care Center of Greenfield

The Pregnancy Care Center provides Christian counseling for alternatives to abortion for expectant mothers. The Care Center also help with the needs of mothers-to-be as well as baby needs, such as diapers, clothes, and baby furniture.
